Care & Maintenance

Quartz Care

Quartz counters do not require resealing. The resin in the Quartz makes it non-porous.

Cleaners such as Windex, Simple Green, Soft Scrub Liquid Gel, and Bar Keeper’s Friend are safe to use on Quartz. Mild dishwashing soap and water are great for daily clean up. Always use a non- abrasive cloth or sponge when cleaning to avoid dulling your surface.

To disinfect, a 1:1 solution of isopropyl or denatured alcohol and water can be used.

Always use a hot pad or trivet between Quartz and any heat generating device such as crock pots, electric skillets, and hot pots or pans. Due to the resin in Quartz, it may crack or burn with excessive temperature changes.

Tough Stains

  • Metal Marks: Rub the affected area with a white latex eraser.
  • Soap Stains: Use an alcohol-based cleaner like Simple Green
  • Ink or Food Stains: Rub the affected area with rubbing alcohol.
  • Rust, Hard Water, or Oil: Use a 3:1 solution of Baking Soda and Water.

DO’S FOR ANY SURFACES

Water with mild soap is a great daily cleaner

Microfiber or nonabrasive cloths should be used on all surfaces.

Wipe up spills as soon as possible

Natural stone care

Avoid the use of citrus cleaners, vinegar, bleach or ammonia-based products on your Marble and Quartzite countertops. These cleaners can be used on Granite countertops.

To disinfect, a 1:1 solution of isopropyl or denatured alcohol and water can be used.

Sealing your Granite, Marble & Quartzite is recommended to be done once a year with any natural stone sealer. Follow the directions on the container for application.

Soapstone does not need to be sealed. Occasionally wipe with a mineral oil to enhance the natural appearance of the stone.
